Dated 27th June :
Congratulations to the three members who have smashed club records already this season: Brian Haynes (52lb Catfish), Pete Hobson (8lb 14oz Tench) and Steave Cooper (38lb 6oz Carp).
Please take time to read the match fixture dates before fishing on the small pit on saturday nights and sunday mornings. Remember: Night fishing is not permitted on this lake the night before a match.
Unfortunately there are still a few mindless idiots who are leaving their rubbish in the swims. These thoughtless individuals will spoil it for everyone so if you see who is doing this please report them to our bailiffs and we will see that they are banned for life.
Please take your litter home Chucking it in the bushes does not constitute clearing up after you.
Many thanks to those that have helped with the maintenance work around the lake. There are still a few steps etc. that need repairing and these will be done as soon as possible.
The pile of wood chips near the slipway is there to use to make the pegs more comfortable and tidy. Please feel free to use this around the lake as required.
The Barley straw in the small pit is there to assist with controlling the blanket weed in the lake. This is an endless task and though we have been raking the weed at various times it is still quite dense in places. Anglers are advised to take their own weed rakes to clear the swims before attempting to fish. Please don't just leave this to the usual few, if everyone cleared a bit we would stand a better chance of keeping the swims clear. Big thanks to those that helped so far.
