Carp Match 24 - 26th Aug '07

The August bank holiday saw 14, enthusiastic, carp anglers go head-to-head on the unpredictable Beacon 'Big Pit', to win the title of Beacon Carp Champion and the prize of £35!...

The signal for 'lines in' came at 8pm on Friday 24th, with fishing lasting 41 hours, the final whistle coming at 1pm on Sunday 26th August. Over the course of the weekend 3 Mirror carp were caught, one at 10lb 10oz, another at 11lb 9oz, and the biggest of the weekend at 15lb 5oz. 1 of these fish being lifted into D. Collings' landing net, securing him second place. The other 2 landing on P. Doherty's unhooking mat, to secure him first place! Nice one mate.

So, I think the big question is...will this be happening next year??...
